Triple Date Moonphase Chronograph...

Questionable Authenticity

Alert: It has come to our attention after publishing this story that the authenticity of this watch is questionable. This information comes from a highly reliable source.

We are currently investigating the authenticity of this watch and as soon as we conclude we will let you know.

Triple Date Moonphase Chronograph

Updated Story: This watch is listed on RobertMaron.com in the Rolex, Sold Watch Archive as an "18K Rolex Oyster Triple Date Moonphase Chronograph in Excellent condition with a white dial."  The Complications are listed as: "Chronograph Complete Calendar Moonphase." Under Additional Information it says: "Rare Vintage Moonphase Chronograph." There is no Rolex Reference Number or Movement designation for this watch listed on RobertMaron.com.

If this watch is authentic, it would have to be a one of a kind prototype or an ultra-rare Rolex watch that to the best of my knowledge has never been cataloged or previously documented. Also, if this watch is authentic, it would be the single most complicated Rolex EVER made. In other words, to date Rolex is not known to have made a watch with as many complications as this watch. To the best of my knowledge Rolex never made a Moonphase Chronograph.
