President Obama's Inaugural Speech...

President Obama's Inagural Speech
The Page Has Been Turned...

I thought President Obama's Inaugural Speech was absolutely amazing. President Obama's speech may be the greatest political speech in history. The only other political speeches that come to mind that would be in the same class would be Dr. Martin Luther Kind Jr's "I Have A Dream" speech, President Kennedy's inauguration speech, as well as his Moon speech. Also Ronald Reagan's "Tear Down This Wall" speech. Enjoy...

President Obama's Oath of Office

In the video photo and video below President Obama is being sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts and President Obama has his hand on the same bible that Abraham Lincold was sworn in on.

Ironically, President Obama appears to misspeak the oath, but it turns out that Chief Justice Roberts misspoke, and since President Obama is a Constitutional Scholar, he did not correct Chief Justice Roberts, but simply spoke the oath correctly. I think both men were under a tremendous amount of pressure and it appears President Obama started repeating the oath early, which probably threw Chief Justice Roberts off.

The oath to be taken by the President on first entering to office is specified in Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution of the United States Of American and it reads:

"I (Name) do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of the President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Second Time Around

Update: On Wednesday, President Ombama retook the oath with Chief Justice Roberts in the White House to make sure it was correct:
