Bob Iger: CEO Of Disney

...Rolex Super Coolness...

The King Of Hollywood

Bob Iger

CEO Of Disney
Rolex Cosmograph Daytona

Bob Iger is a man who is hard to describe. He is kind of like a Hollywood Superman. Not only is he CEO of Disney, which is the worlds largest media company, but he has put together a portfolio of businesses that would make your head spin, including Pixar, ESPN and Lucasfilm. Bob Iger is also a highly respected and trusted board member of Apple.

The photo below of Bob Iger wearing his new Rolex Daytona  appears courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, which recently wrote an amazing article about his career achievements.

Rolex introduced the new white dial Rolex Cosmograph Daytona with a black ceramic bezel, which Bob Iger is wearing in the photo above, earlier this year at BaselWorld 2016. From what I understand, this model is still in short supply and hard to find.

STAR WARS

THE RETURN OF THE FRANCHISE

The Star Wars Empire was built by George Lucas, which made 6 major films. It appears, that as time went by, George Lucas lost interest in making more Star Wars movies. This is where Bob Iger and Disney saw a brilliant opportunity, as Disney acquired LucasFilm along with the entire Star Wars Franchise for $4.05 Billion in 2012.

Purchasing LucasFilm has proven to one of the wisest investments Disney could make, as the Star Wars: The Force Awakens made close to a billion dollars in domestic box office alone in the United States and Canada, which makes it the highest grossing movie ever made. The Force Awakens set many other box office records, including being the fastest film to gross $1 Billion, which only took 12 days. It also set the record for being the biggest worldwide opening weekend, and single weekend gross at $529 Million.

Bob Iger is pictured above wearing a Rolex Oyster model. I have noticed him wearing many different Rolex models over the years.

Bob Iger is not the first CEO of Disney to wear a Rolex! Walt Disney himself wore a yellow gold Rolex Datejust, as you can see in the photos below. If you think about it, Walt Disney had much in common with Rolex founder, Hans Wilsdorf, in the sense they both left behind amazingly timeless and successful companies that people love!!!

"Think beyond your lifetime if you want to do something truly great."
—Walt Disney

"Technology extends the purview of the story-teller."

Sophia Loren The Most Beautiful Woman

...Rolex Ultra-Super Hotness...

 Sophia Loren
Supreme Iconic Beauty

Academy Award Winning Best Actress

26MM Yellow Gold Rolex Lady Date

Infinite superlatives come to mind when thinking about Sophia Loren. Stunning, Beautiful, Exotic, Gorgeous, Timeless, Beautiful, Ageless, Talented, Fun, Funny, Entertaining, Unique, Cosmopolitan, Sublime, Supreme, Sophisticated, Unparalleled, Elegant, Pure, Flawless and Magical. The list could go on forever...

Sophia Loren has been wearing her trademark yellow gold lady Date for at least 4 decades, and it looks equally timeless. This first photo of Sophia Loren wearing her Rolex was taken in 1986.

In the close-up wrist shot below, it appears Sophia Loren's yellow gold Rolex is on a riveted Datejust bracelet. Talk about beautiful vintage Rolex...

This next photo of Sophia Loren, taken in 1979 shows her wearing her Rolex Italian Agneli Style, on the outside of her blouse.

This next photo of Sophia Loren is the earliest known photo I have been able to find of her sporting her Rolex, and it was taken in 1976.

The photograph of Sophia Loren below is one of my favorites. Sophia Loren has some of the greatest curves ever seen on a woman.

Italian beauty, Sophia Loren is arguably one of the most stunningly exotic and beautiful women that ever lived, as we see in the photos above and below. The two photos below were taken in Venice in 1955.

Sophia Loren & Cary Grant

"You can’t have everything at the same time. That’s life.” –Sophia Loren

Cary Grant starred in a movie with Sophia Loren and fell madly in love with her, and asked her to marry him. She contemplated it, but ultimately passed on the opportunity.

Cary Grant not only came close to marrying Sophia Loren and missed-out on the opportunity, but also, Cary Grant was offered to originally play the role of James Bond, and just barely missed-out on that opportunity. Can you image if he had married Sophia and played James Bond?

One Look Can Write A Book

This scene from the 1958 movie, Houseboat, starring Sophia Loren and Cary Grant, is one of the most mesmerizing, tantalizing and sublime pieces of romantic film ever captured in history, and yes, they are dancing to the legendary Sam Cooke singing...

This stunning moment captured on celluloid shows Cary Grant and Sophia Loren, both in the absolute prime of their lives, with a zillion facets, all shimmering in eternity forever...

The chemistry is unmistakably authentic, because it was real...Sophia and Cary, in this brief, but shining moment, flawlessly epitomize the core essence of modernity, while remaining the perfectly impeccable archetypes of timeless feminine beauty and masculine elegance...

Everything about the scene above from Houseboat is flawlessly magnificent from the camera angles, to the lighting, to the set, to the costumes, to the acting, to the script, to the raw chemistry...The supreme irony is the actual love affair that was going on behind the scenes between Sophia and Cary. Cary Grant fell madly in love with Sophia and asked her to marry him. Carlo Ponti, learned about this and put all chips on red to get Sophia to marry him instead. So basically the chemistry in the scene above and in the photo below was real...

Sophia Loren and Cary Grant remained close friends for the rest of Cary Grant's life, as you can see in the photos below.

This next photo of Cary Grant and Sophia Loren is really fascinating, as we see them hanging out with Prince Charles, who is chatting with Lee Majors (Six Million Dollar Man) and Farah Fawcett Majors (Charlie's Angels). Farah Fawcett was really the Sophia Loren of the 1970s, if you think about it.

In the video below we see Sophia Loren receiving an honorary Oscar.

Sophia Loren is pictured below recently wearing her yellow gold Rolex Lady Date. You can always check out more photos of Sophia Loren on Jake's Who Knew World.

In 2012, Vanity Fair interviewed Sophia Loren at her home in Geneva, Switzerland, and the article is super detailed and it is titled 'Sophia's Choices'.

On October 13, 2013 Rolex CEO Gian Riccardo Marini honored Sophia Loren at the ROLEX MENTOR & PROTÉGÉ Gala at Venice's La Fenice Opera House, and said "Sophia Loren is an icon of Italian and world cinema."

Pictured above is Rolex CEO Gian Riccardo Marini with Sophia Loren

Rolex also honored Sophia Loren in their 2013 ad campaign named Rolex and Icons, with the image below is from.

Hans Wilsdorf Watch Model

Hans Wilsdorf Watch Model

Hans Walsdorf was the founder of Rolex, and from 1934 to 1940 he sold a line of watches with his name on the dial. Tommy Taylor sent in this photo recently of his Hans Wilsdorf model, which I just updated to The Hans Wilsdorf Story, which I highly recommend reading if you want to learn what makes Rolex tick.

The Open 145th ROYAL TROON

...Golf's Original Championship...
The Open
145th ROYAL TROON
July 14 to July 17, 2016

The Open Championship is often referred to as "The Open", or "The British Open". It remains golfs oldest of the four major world championships, thus preceding the Masters, the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship. This year's Open will be played from July 14 through July 17th at the Royal Troon Golf Club, on the Old Course, which is located in Troon, Scotland, in South Ayrshire.

Rolex Open Golf Legends

Many of the top golfers in history wear Rolex watches, so I thought I would share some photos below of golfers that have won The Open. Let's begin with "The Big Three of Golf", which includes Gary Player, Arnold Palmer, and Jack Nicklaus, who are pictured together below in 2007, all sporting their Rolex watches.

Notice Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus are wearing yellow gold Rolex Day-Date models and Arnold Palmer is wearing one of my favorite Rolex models, which is an original LV Submariner, which has a green bezel with a black dial.

In the photo below taken in the late 1960s we see the Golfs Big Three in the same order as the photo above.

Arnold Palmer

In the photo below we see golf legend, Arnold Palmer in a recent photo sporting his yellow gold Rolex GMT-Master. Palmer won The Open back-to-back in the years of 1961 and 1962. Arnold Palmer is not only one of the great golfing legends, but also a lifelong Rolex wearer. He has had the nickname of "The King" of golf because he was the first golf superstar in the age of television. Arnold Palmer began wearing a Rolex back in 1961 when he was 32 years old. Arnold Palmer became the first official Rolex Golf Ambassador in 1967, under the leadership of then Rolex CEO, André Heiniger.

"Rolex has shared every second of my time for the last 55 years." –Arnold Palmer

Arnold Palmer is pictured below in the Oval Office with President Nixon on February 13, 1969, along with fellow athletes, Bart Starr (football player) on far left, and Al Kaline of the Detroit Tigers. Notice, that Arnold Palmer is wearing his yellow gold Rolex Day-Date in the photos below. Ironically, you see the top golfer in the world wearing a Rolex "President" in the Oval Office.

Gary Player

Next up we have Gary Player, who won The Open in 1959, 1968, and 1974. In the recent photo below we see Gary Player sporting his yellow gold Rolex Day-Date.

Jack Nicklaus

Next, we see golf legend, Jack Nicklaus in a recent photo sporting his yellow gold Rolex Day-Date. Jack Nicklaus won The Open in 1966,1970 and 1978.

The photo below shows Jack Nicklaus in 1978 after winning The Open, and he is wearing his Rolex Day-Date.

Jack has been wearing a Rolex Day-Date since 1967, so next year will mark the 50th years he has worn Rolex. The photo below of Jack Nicklaus wearing a Rolex Day-Date was taken in 1968 when he was 28 years old. It is the oldest known photo of him wearing a Rolex that I have been able to find.

Tom Watson

Next up we have Tom Watson who won The Open five times, in 1975, 1977, 1980, 1982 & in 1983. Tom Watson is pictured below holding his coveted Open trophy, and notice he is wearing his yellow gold Day-Date. The photo below was taken when he won The Open in 1982.

Seve Ballesteros

Pictured below we see Seve Ballesteros who own The Open in 1979, 1984 and 1988. Seve is wearing his Rolex Day-Date in the photo below.

Lee Trevino

Next up we see golf legend Lee Trevino who won The Open back to back in 1971 and 1972. In the photo below we see Lee Trevino with his good pal, Jack Nicklaus, and both are wearing Rolex watches.

In the photo below we see Lee Trevino wearing either a Rolex Submariner or GMT-Master.

Greg Norman

Next up we see Greg Norman who won The Open in 1986 and 1993. In 1993 Greg Norman set the record for the lowest score over 72 holes at The Open, winning in only 267 strokes. In the first photo below we see Greg Norman wearing his yellow gold Rolex Submariner.

In the photo below we see Greg Norman sporting his yellow gold Rolex Daytona.

In the photo below we see Greg Norman with Jack Nicklaus, and both are wearing yellow-gold Rolex models. Greg Norman is wearing a yellow gold Rolex Daytona, and Jack Nicklaus is wearing a yellow-gold Rolex Day-Date.

Tiger Woods

Next, we Tiger Woods who won The Open in 2000, 2005 and 2006. Tiger Woods is pictured below sporting his two-tone Rolex GMT-Master.

Phil Mickelson

Next up we see Phil Mickelson wearing his Platinum Rolex Day-Date. Phil Mickelson won The Open in 2013.
