Miami Vice Monday Season 1 [Episode 3, Cool Runnin']

Miami Vice Monday
Season 1 [Episode 3, Cool Runnin']
Original Air Date: October 5, 1984

This in kind of funny. This is the third time I have posted Miami Vice Monday on Tuesday ;-)

This episode in interesting and it is amazing to me how polished Crocket and Tubbs characters are. Since I never really watched Miami Vice when it was on TV in the 80s it is interesting to examine.

LV in The Rear View of a Porsche 911

If the LV Submariner was a car, what would it be? Probably a Porsche 911.

Presidential Watch Sunday
An Unprecedented Look At The Presidency

It ain't bragging if you can do it. –Dizzy Dean

Welcome to the fifth installment of Presidential Watch Sunday. Today, instead of photos I am sharing an MSNBC video documentary with you named "Brian Williams Reports, Inside The White House."

This documentary gives us an unprecedented look inside the White House and inside the real West Wing. I am certain you will enjoy it. By the way, Brian Williams is wearing his stainless steel Rolex in the documentary.

1920s Rolex Cushion Case...

1920s Rolex Cushion Case

If this Rolex looks similar to a Panerai it is because the Panerai Radiomir model is based on this same design language that Rolex pioneered back in the 1920s.

I Spy Saturday Season 1 [Episode 8 : The Time of the Knife]

I Spy Saturday
Season 1 [Episode 8 : The Time of the Knife]
Original Air Date: November 3, 1965

Last week I skipped over Episode 8 by mistake, so here it is. This one takes place in Tokyo and there are some beautiful Japanese scenes in this episode. I really enjoyed this episode for some reason. Robert Culp and Bill Cosby's report is great and in this episode you really start to see it congeal.

I don't know what it is about I Spy, but when I watch the episodes, it almost seems like I am hanging out with them...Almost like I went back in time to 1965 in a time machine and am invisible and just observing...and yes, our spies are wearing their trusted, trademark GMT Pepsi Rolex watches...

Yin & Yang: Point Counterpoint...

Yin & Yang

Yesterday we saw Bernhard's magnificent new grail Rolex Paul Newman Daytona and today we are going to look at two exotic Daytona dials that are perfectly antithetical to Bernhard's watch. Both watches come from Bernhard's pals and this first photo was taken by Philipp of his opposite Daytona pictured on the right, with Bernhard's on the left.

Dr. Strong Daytona

Jeff (Dr. Strong) sent in these next three fantastic shots of his Daytona which is perfectly opposite of Bernhard's.

Jeff is a huge Paul Newman fan and rightfully so!!! All these amazing vintage Rolex Daytona shots are just amazing!!!!!!I would like to thank Philipp and Jeff for sharing these superb photos. They and Bernhard are great Rolex photographer's and their watches are so cool!!!!!!

Flipper Friday Season 1 [Episode 8: Countdown For Flipper]

Flipper Friday
Season 1 [Episode 8: Countdown For Flipper]
Original Air Date: November 11, 1964

I don't know what it is about Flipper, but I love this show!!! The whole aquatic them with the speedboats and Flipper the dolphin. When I talk to readers of Jake's Rolex Watch Blog it is amazing how many of them start talking about how they love Flipper!!!

Porter Ricks, played by Brian Kelly is part Father, part GQ model, part Super-Hero, and part Cowboy, and you see him wearing his Submariner in the photo below.

This next photo is a publicity shot from Flipper in taken 1964, and it shows Porter Ricks with his younger son Bud, with Flipper Jumping out of the water.
