Ryan Gosling is pictured above in Blade Runner 2049, and he is wearing a jacket very similar in style to the one Harrison Ford wore 35 years ago in the original Blade Runner. Also notice the style of the set in the background above, is very similar to the sets in the original movie, and I have to say that in the original Blade Runner, it takes you to a different world, which has a very 1980s futuristic vibe.
So what did I think about Blade Runner 2049? First I have to tell you I am NOT GOING TO RUIN THE MOVIE FOR YOUR BY TALKING ABOUT THE PLOT. I have to tell you, I don't like going to movie theaters for a zillion reasons. I probably see about 2 movies in theaters every year. Why? As I get older, I feel like I just don't have time to waste in fantasy-land, yet I realize sometimes it is great to escape for a few hour.
That being said, I though Blade Runner 2049 was an excellent movie! How excellent? I am excited to watch it again, not in a theater, but at home, where I can pause, and rewind. I am not surprised that Ridley Scott did such a great job producing the sequel to the much anticipated sequel that he originally directed, with the original Blade Runner movie.

Blade Runner 2049 was a long movie, clocking-in at almost 3 hours, which was great...I would say my favorite thing about the movie, is that in many ways it took me back to the original fantasy/alternative world of the original Blade Runner—including all the beautiful melancholy Vangelis-like music.
Ryan Gosling was AMAZING!!!!!!! Harrison Ford did a great job, playing Harrison Ford, and the script was amazingly unpredictable—in a good way. The plot took so many twists and turns, and the movie storyline was NOTHING like I expected, which was superb. The script also did a great job tying together and interweaving the with the original movie. In many ways it answered many questions people had about the original Blade Runner.
My fiancé, said, "Hey, let's go see a movie. I want to see the new Blade movie!" Do you want to go? I said, "No thanks! An hour later she said, "I really want to go see this Blade Runner movie, which I heard grossed $30 Million on its first day. Are you sure you don't want to go?" I responded, "Oh, I forgot, Blade Runner is in theaters now!?!! Sure, let's go see it!"
She didn't like Blade Runner, and said it was really confusing. I asked her if she had ever seen the original Blade Runner, and she responded, "There was a prequel?" My best advice, is it is probably a great idea to watch the original Blade Runner first, so that Blade Runner 2049 makes sense.
As far as a score, I would rate Blade Runner a 97 out of 100. Keep in mind that the original Blade Runner is one of my favorite Science Fiction movies of all time, as is the original Star Wars.
I promised I would not ruin the plot, but I will tell you that Elvis Presley makes a cameo appearance in Blade Runner 2049, and when I saw him singing on stage, the first think that popped into my head, being the Rolex Fanatic I am, is that Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, and Elvis Presley are all Rolex wearing dudes ;-)
By the way, another one of my favorite science fiction movies is the 2001 Steven Spielberg named "AI".

I am beyond excited to share the first FULL-LENGTH trailer just released this afternoon for Blade Runner 2049, which stars Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford. Blade Runner 2049 takes place 30 years after the events in the original Blade Runner movie, which was released in 1982 and famously starred Harrison Ford. Of course, the original Blade Runner movie, is considered to be one of the greatest science fiction movies of all time!
Watching this trailer Deja Vu's me out really hard—in an early 1980s kind of way. Seeing Harrison Ford in a 2017 Blade Runner movie makes me feel so nostalgic. I mean, what is more 80s than Blade Runner, Harrison Ford, Rolex and Vangelis music playing in the background. Oh, and speaking of the 1980s, I might point out that ironically Donald Trump, who is the epitome of the 1980s is the President. As Yogi Berra once famously said, "It's like deja-vu, all over again." It is ironic despite the fact the first Blade Runner movie was released in 1982, it was supposed to take place in 2019, which is less than two short years away.
In the original Blade Runner, it depicted 2019 to be quite different than it is today. There were not iPhones, or Google or Facebook, or Instagram or even UHD 77 inch OLED screens. Instead, flying cars were everywhere and Atari as a brand was still all the rage. Also it was raining like crazy in Los Angeles. Well, I guess that part came true :-) and Coca Cola is still going strong, as the original Blade Runner had the big neon Coca Cola sign in downtown Lost Angeles. Speaking of 1982 and Coca-Cola, the line from The Clash album, Combat Rock from the song, "Straight To Hell", also pops into my head, when they sing, "Let me tell you 'bout your blood bamboo kid. It ain't Coco-Cola, it's rice." I was 16 years old in 1982, and they say that our memories are usually clearest from that stage in our life, as we are metamorphosing from child to adult.
Either way, whenever I watch the Original Blade Runner movie, it takes me back to the 1980s in a highly memorable, nostalgic way. Kind of like spending time with somebody you have not seen since your childhood...
Philip K. Dick wrote a book that was published in 1968 named "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep", which Blade Runner was based upon. Unfortunately Philip K. Dick did not live to see the original Blade Runner, as he passed away on March 2, 1982 after suffering a major stroke. That being said, Ridley Scott was able to show Philip K. Dick some of the footage five months before he passed away, and he loved and endorsed it.
Ryan Gosling is costarring with Harrison Ford in Blade Runner 2049, and apparently Gosling will be playing a Bladerunner named "K". I really hope Blade Runner 2049 lives up to its full potential. I remember when Harrison Ford came back after decades to reprise his Role as Indiana Jones in Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, it was so disappointing. Harrison Ford looked great, but the movie was filled with way too much unrealistic CGI ridiculousness. I remember thinking, if they just dressed up Harrison Ford in his Indiana Jones outfit, and interviewed him for two hours, it would have bee more interesting than the movie. Why? In the final analysis one characteristic all great movies have in common is superb character development. That is what makes movie great, are its interesting an realistic characters, not super-fake, unrealistic special effects...
On a positive not, when Harrison Ford reprised his role in Hans Solo in The Force Awakens, he was pretty good, as was the movie. Unfortunately the latest Star Wars movie, Rouge One was beyond terrible. I love Star Wars, and the original Star Wars from 1977 is one of my favorite movies of all time, but Rouge One sucked!?!! The thing that give me hope (pun not intended ;-), is that Ridley Scott has been deeply involved in the development of Blade Runner 2049, and he is still incredible!!!!

I recently got dragged against my will & desire to see the chick-flick La La Land, and I was really surprised! It was really good!!! I am not the only person who thinks this as the movie has been met with critical acclaim, and as I mentioned it is up for 14 Academy Awards.

Ryan Gosling costarred with Emma Stone in La La Land, as well as in the 2011 movie Crazy Stupid Love. In the Crazy Stupid Love he wore a Rolex Day-Date in yellow gold, a stainless steel Submariner, as well as an Art-Deco yellow gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual Bubbleback with a California dial as seen in the poster above, and in the photos below.
Not the clearest shot, but if you look closely you can see ALL of the unique tell-tale characteristics of the vintage Art-Deco "California Dial". This includes the classic upside down triangle at 13, along with the verticle rectangles at 3, 6 an 9. Also we see the Arabic Numerals on the top half of the dial, coupled with the Roman Numerals on the bottom half of the dial.

The much anticipated sequel to the original Blade Runner movie from 1982 completed material filming in November 2016 and is scheduled to debut in theaters around the world on October 6, 2017.
Blade Runner was written by leading Science Fiction writer, Philip K. Dick who is referred to by fans as PKD. PKD wrote many books that have been converted into movies, including Total Recall, Minority Report, and A Scanner Darkly. The amazing Amazon Studios TV series named The Man In The High Castle is also based upon Philip K. Dick's 1962 novel by the same name, and Ridley Scott is ironically an Executive Producer of that show. Philip K. Dick's The Man In The High Castle imagines a world where the Nazi's and Japanese won World War II, and in the early 1960s are sharing a tension-consumed United States. The Man In The High Castle is an amazing piece of science-fiction and if you have not seen it, I highly recommend checking it out.

Ridley Scott directed the original Blade Runner movie, and is serving as the Executive Producer on the new Blade Runner movie. He has maintained for a long time that Harrison Ford's character, 'Decker' was a replicant. The challenge is that replicants typically have a four-year lifespan only. Thus, they rebel violently as they don't want to die.
