Harold Wilson Prime Minister Of The United Kingdom

A Prime Minister Wearing A Rolex President

Harold Wilson

Prime Minister Of The United Kingdom

1916-1995

James Harold Wilson served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1964 to 1970, as well as from 1974 to 1976. He was a British Labour Party politician. He began his political career in 1945 when he entered Parliament. As we see in the photos below, Harold Wilson wore a yellow gold Rolex Day-Date, also known as The Rolex President.

One of my favorite things to do on Jake's Rolex World is tell the story behind different Rolex Magazine advertisements, but the challenge is some of them don't use the persons name, which was the case with the "Men who guide the destinies of the world wear Rolex watches" ad seen below from 1964, thus we need to use some logical deduction...

Harold Wilson is pictured below meeting with U.S. President Kennedy at the White House in Washington D.C., on April 2, 1963.

Harold Wilson is pictured below meeting with U.S. President Johnson at the White House in Washington D.C. and notice LBJ is also wearing his Rolex Day-Date.

Harold Wilson is pictured below with Queen Elizabeth in September of 1975 at Balmoral just after he informed her he was planning to retire his position as Prime Minister on his 60th birthday in the following March.

Rolex Coolness: Michael Caine...

Academy Award Winning Actor

...Rolex Coolness...

Sir Michael Caine

Rolex Day-Date

Michael Caine is and Academy Award winning actor who has enjoyed an incredible career. He is pictured below sporting his Rolex Day-Date.

...My Name Is Michael Caine...

Michael Caine was unique in the sense that he was the first "Cockney" Hearthrob. In other words, he was the first major movie star/hunk with a Cockney (East London) accent. In many ways his appeal was based upon his "I'm every man" persona, coupled with the fact that he also had a rugged and regal way about him.

1969 Movie
The Italian Job

Below is the opening credit section of the 1969 cult classic which Michael Caine starred it named The Italian Job. It features a 1969 Lamborghini P400S Mura V12 driving through the Italian Alps, while Matt Monroe sings his classic song "On Days Like These." You can learn much more about the 1969 Lamborghini Miura on Jake's Car World from Jerry Seinfeld.

1971 Movie
Get Carter

Micheal Caine starred in Get Carter in 1971, which was a huge it in the U.K., so much so it was declared to be the best U.K. film ever made.

1984 Madness Song
My Name Is Michael Caine

Madness is one of my favorite bands of all time, and I remember this song from when I was in high school, titled, My Name Is Michael Caine.

1988 Movie
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

Michael Caine wore a yellow gold Rolex Oyster-Quartz, Day-Date (Reference 19018) in the 1988 movie named Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which co-starred Steve Martin.

A 6th Rolex On Daniel Craig...

A 6th Rolex on Daniel Craig

It appears that Daniel Craig who plays James Bond is a beyond RISitus & WISdom and is a Rolex Fanatic. I just spotted a 6th different Rolex model on him on the Charlie Rose Show. This time Daniel Craig is sporting what appears to be a Rolex Submariner [Reference 1680].

I believe it is a 1680 Submariner because if you look closely on the first image you notice the extremely tall crystal which is the trademark of the 1680.

Update: The more I look at the photos, the more I think he may be wearing his 6263 Daytona because I think I can see the two chronograph buttons.
