In the photo above and below the winding rotor is still in place.

In the photo above and below we see the hairspring oscillating at 28,800 beats per hour, which is 691,200 beats per day, and 25 Million beats per year. 

Contrast this with a human heart which when at rest beats 70 times a minute, which would be 4200 times an hour, 100,800 beats per day, and 3.7 Million times a year.

Next Henk removed the balance and hairspring, which is the heart of the watch.

Watchmaker and writer/publisher of Watchmakingblog.com, J. Peter points out "The hairspring is the regulating organ which determines the rate at which the balance oscillates in its regular fashion."

Now you see the balance, hairspring and rotor removed.
