Rolex introduced the famous Rolex Oyster in 1926, and began a world-wide marketing campaign to familiarize the world with the many benefits of owning a truly waterproof watch. The following Rolex ad from 1926 is the earliest know Rolex Oyster magazine ad I am aware of, and of course you can always learn much more about The History Of The Rolex Oyster on Jake's Rolex World.
Rosie Huntington and Jason Statham are one of the hottest Hollywood couples today, even thought they are both originally from England. Rosie Huntington is a Victoria Secret model, and actress, and she has been dating British actor Jason Statham for four years. Rosie is pictured below wearing a stainless steel Rolex Daytona.

In photo above we see Jason wearing a vintage Daytona, and in the video interviews below we see Jason Statham talking about his current movie he stars in named The Fast & Furious 7, and we see he is wearing a vintage Daytona.
In the photo above and video below we see Jason Statham wearing a vintage Paul Newman Black dial Rolex Daytona, which has a dial that is the reverse of the one in the video interview above.
Fast and Furious 7 Movie
The theatrical trailer for The Fast & Furious 7 can be seen below. I saw this movie recently and it is seriously action packed!!!!
The six Star Wars movies comprise what is arguably "The most iconic movie collection of all time", and for the first time in history, they will be available for digital download from sources such as the Apple iTunes store!!! The movie will be available for purchase and download on April 10, 2015.
I was 10 years old when the original Star Wars movie came out, and watching that first movie seriously expanded my imagination. The Star Wars movies are super iconic, just like Rolex, so this is really exciting news!!!
Rolex has a bizarre habit of recycling names. Take for instance, this Rolex ad from 1947. Notice Rolex refers to their Reference 6062 as a "Cosmograph." Recognize the world "Cosmograph?" Today Rolex refers to the Rolex Daytona as a "Cosmograph." So what does "Cosmograph" mean? According to an encyclopedia it means:
"1. The science which describes and maps the general features of the universe (both heavens and the earth), without encroaching on the special provinces of astronomy or geography. 2. A description of representation of the universe or of the earth in its general features."
My absolute favorite Rolex model in history is the Reference 6062 Moonphase with the star indices on the dial, and here is a 1947 Rolex catalog page.
Elizabeth Holmes is a trailblazer in the health care industry. She founded her fascinatingly successful company named Theranos when she was only 19 years old. Rolex introduced new gem-set 39MM Cellini models at BaselWorld 2015. The models have diamonds running around the bezel. The 18ct white gold Reference 50609 RBR is pictured below. These models feature self-winding mechanical movements manufactured by Rolex, and they are COSC Certified Chronometers, which include a 48-hour power reserve. This first model is white gold with a black lacquer dial.

At BaselWorld this year Rolex introduced an extensive range of all-new Oyster Perpetual models. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual is considered to be one of the least expensive Rolex watches, and it is arguably a super simple watch. This year Rolex ads a twist to the Oyster by adding contrasting 5 second markers in contrasting colors.
Rolex describes all the details and design ethos behind the new Rolex Oyster:
Oyster Perpetual
The Privilege Of The Rolex Legend
The Oyster Perpetual is the purest expression of the Oyster concept, having no other function than a reliable and accurate time display. This watch is the direct descendant of the original Oyster launched in 1926, the first waterproof wristwatch in the world and the foundation on which Rolex has built its reputation.
It comprises the renowned Rolex waterproof Oyster case and Manufacture mechanical self-winding Perpetual movement. An officially certified chronometer, the Oyster Perpetual is endowed with all the fundamental attributes of the Oyster collection. This timeless model stands out with its eye-catching new dials in elegant and sporty colours.
THE OYSTER CASE
SYMBOL OF WATERPROOFNESS AND ROBUSTNESS
The Oyster Perpetual’s Oyster case, guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet), is a paragon of robustness and reliability. The character- istically shaped middle case is crafted from a solid block of particularly corrosion-resistant 904L steel. The fluted case back is hermetically screwed down with a special tool that allows only Rolex watchmakers to access the movement. The winding crown, fitted with the Twinlock double water- proofness system, screws down securely against the case. The crystal is made of virtually scratchproof sapphire. The waterproof Oyster case provides optimal protection for the high-precision movement.
CALIBRES 3132, 3130 AND 2231
According to its size, the Oyster Perpetual is equipped with either calibre 3132 (39 mm version), 3130 (36 and 34 mm versions), or 2231 (31 and 26 mm versions), three self-winding mechanical movements entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. The high-quality design, manufacture and fine-tuning of Rolex movements ensure exceptional performance. Each movement is a certified Swiss chronometer, a designation reserved for high-precision watches that have passed the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) tests. In calibres 3132 and 3130, the oscillator – the true heart of the watch – has a blue Parachrom hairspring patented and manufactured by Rolex in an exclusive alloy of niobium and zirconium. Insensitive to magnetic interferences, the Parachrom hairspring offers great stability in the face of temperature variations and remains up to 10 times more precise than a traditional hairspring in case of shocks.
THE OYSTER BRACELET
SECURE AND COMFORTABLE
The Oyster Perpetual is paired with a solid-link 904L steel Oyster bracelet, which is very secure and comfortable to wear. It is equipped with a folding Oysterclasp, designed by Rolex.
Historically Rolex has always been extremely secretive and discreet, and no journalists in the past have ever been invited "INSIDE ROLEX" to explore and report on all four Rolex Manufacturing faclities in Switzerland.
In November 2013, this changed when Rolex invited Jake to take an unprecdented journey into the heart of Rolex to learn and report on everything he witnessed and learned.
This Super-Detailed 3 Part Story is a "MUST READ" story for anybody who wants to understand what really makes Rolex tick.
