This ad for Republic Aviation is fascinating in that is discusses how Republic provided the U.S. Air Force with 4500 Thunderjets
Note: In 1953, when this Rolex Ad came out, President Eisenhower had just started his first of two terms as the President of the United States, and he was wearing the exact Rolex Datejust featured in this ad.
In this fascinating video Rolex goes into depth on the history of the Rolex Daytona. To learn much, much, much more about the amazing history of the Rolex Daytona, you can check out my story named "The Complete History Of The Rolex Daytona Cosmograph."
I have fantastic news to report! Neil deGrasse Tyson loves interviewing fascinating people, especially really smart people with great scientific minds, and National Geographic TV just launched his show named StarTalk on the NATGEO Channel. You can watch the first episode below, which features and interview with George Takei who played Sulu on the original Star Trek TV Show.
Swiss explorer and oceanographer Jacques Piccardis pictured below with his legendary explorer father August Piccard on the Bathyscaphe Trieste in Italy in 1953 just before they set the all-time world depth record.
Jacques Piccard is pictured belwo with his son Bertrand Piccard, who, like his father Jacques and grandfather August, went on to become on of the worlds leading explorers. Bertrand and Jacques are pictured below in Palm Beach, Florida posing in front of the NASA Ben Franklin Submersible in 1969, which Jacques Piccard would set a new world record in, by slipping into the Gulf Stream and traveling up from Florida to Halifax Nova Scotia, in Canada, thus having traveled 1,444 miles (2,324km) in a state of neutral buoyancy, meaning it literally floated without any power. Dr. Robert Ballardtook over the Ben Franklin after Piccard, years before he discovered the Titanic in its watery grave.

Rosie Huntington and Jason Statham are one of the hottest Hollywood couples today, even thought they are both originally from England. Fast and Furious 7 Movie
The theatrical trailer for The Fast & Furious 7 can be seen below. I saw this movie recently and it is seriously action packed!!!!
The six Star Wars movies comprise what is arguably "The most iconic movie collection of all time", and for the first time in history, they will be available for digital download from sources such as the Apple iTunes store!!! The movie will be available for purchase and download on April 10, 2015.
I was 10 years old when the original Star Wars movie came out, and watching that first movie seriously expanded my imagination. The Star Wars movies are super iconic, just like Rolex, so this is really exciting news!!!
Rolex has a bizarre habit of recycling names. Take for instance, this Rolex ad from 1947. Notice Rolex refers to their Reference 6062 as a "Cosmograph." Recognize the world "Cosmograph?" Today Rolex refers to the Rolex Daytona as a "Cosmograph." So what does "Cosmograph" mean? According to an encyclopedia it means:
"1. The science which describes and maps the general features of the universe (both heavens and the earth), without encroaching on the special provinces of astronomy or geography. 2. A description of representation of the universe or of the earth in its general features."
My absolute favorite Rolex model in history is the Reference 6062 Moonphase with the star indices on the dial, and here is a 1947 Rolex catalog page.
Historically Rolex has always been extremely secretive and discreet, and no journalists in the past have ever been invited "INSIDE ROLEX" to explore and report on all four Rolex Manufacturing faclities in Switzerland.
In November 2013, this changed when Rolex invited Jake to take an unprecdented journey into the heart of Rolex to learn and report on everything he witnessed and learned.
This Super-Detailed 3 Part Story is a "MUST READ" story for anybody who wants to understand what really makes Rolex tick.
