Unique Tudor Heritage Black Baby Model To Be Auctioned as One Watch 2015
...Tudor Super-Coolness... Unique Tudor Heritage Black Baby Model To Be Auctioned as One Watch 2015 Reference 7923/001
Tudor made a special one-of-a-kind Tudor Black Bay model for the Only Watch 2015 auction. The "Only Watch Action" is a special auction that offers unique watches from top brands. The Tudor Reference 7923/001 is based upon the original 1954 Tudor model with the Reference 7923. In other words, it is a homage to the original Tudor Submariner from 1954.

If we examine the photo above, we see the original Tudor Submariner Reference 7923 on the left from 1954. On the right, we see the unique Tudor Black Bay 2015 model 7923/001. Both have gilt dials, with pencil hands, also with the "lollipop" second hand. The 7923/001 also ads a single red dial designation as well as an upside-down red pyramid marker at 12 o'clock. Both of these elements came from original Rolex Submariner watches from the mid 1950s. It is also interesting to note that Tudor did not use the "Submariner" designation on the 2015 model. If you are not familiar with Tudor, it is a brand owned and produced by Rolex.

Sir Laurence Olivier Rolex Datejust + Patek Philippe Calatrava

Academy Award Winner For Best Actor
Sir Laurence Olivier
1907-1989
Stainless and Gold Rolex Datejust
I figured since we were just looking at another very famous Englishman last week (Michael Caine) it makes sense to take a look at another extremely famous Englishman; Sir Laurence Olivier.
There are many famous men who wore two Rolex at the same time, including NASA Apollo Astronauts as well as figures like Fidel Castro. In the photo below, take in 1972 we see "Sir Laurence" wearing his two-tone Datejust along with another watch I can't make a positive ID on.
Laurence Olivier is considered by many to be one of the greatest actors who ever lived, and he left behind an amazing legacy, both on the stage, and in film and TV roles.
Laurence Olivier preferred for people to call him "Larry". Just to put things in perspective, he was born in England in 1907, three years after fellow British actor, Cary Grant (1904), and died three years after Cary Grant Died (1986) in 1989. In other words, both men lived to be 82 years old, born three years apart from each other.

Sir Michael Caine
Rolex Day-Date
Michael Caine is and Academy Award winning actor who has enjoyed an incredible career. He is pictured below sporting his Rolex Day-Date.
...My Name Is Michael Caine...
Michael Caine was unique in the sense that he was the first "Cockney" Hearthrob. In other words, he was the first major movie star/hunk with a Cockney (East London) accent. In many ways his appeal was based upon his "I'm every man" persona, coupled with the fact that he also had a rugged and regal way about him.

1969 Movie
The Italian Job
Below is the opening credit section of the 1969 cult classic which Michael Caine starred it named The Italian Job. It features a 1969 Lamborghini P400S Mura V12 driving through the Italian Alps, while Matt Monroe sings his classic song "On Days Like These." You can learn much more about the 1969 Lamborghini Miura on Jake's Car World from Jerry Seinfeld.

Doctor George Bond. U.S. Navy Project Genesis
and Jacques Cousteau & Project CONSHELF.
It Is hard to believe I began working on my 18 Chapter Series on the History of The Rolex Submariner and SEA-DWELLER eight years ago! I saved this chapter, as the last chapter, which ironically ties together the nexus between the development of the Rolex Submariner and SEA-DWELLER–in what appears to be a never-ending untold story.
The photo below was taken in 1968, and it shows U.S. Navy Doctor George Bond being interviewed with his close associate, Captain Jacques-Yves Cousteau, who is the greatest explorer in history. In the interview, they were discussing U.S. Navy SEALAB III.
"What is a scientist after all? It is a curious man looking through a keyhole, the keyhole of nature, trying to know what's going on." –Jacques-Yves Cousteau
Jacques-Yves Cousteau
The First Rolex Submariner
Jacques Yves-Cousteau is considered to be the father of Scuba Diving, and he worked with Rolex in the early 1950s to develop the Rolex Submariner as seen on his wrist below in 1953.
Jacques-Yves Cousteau is pictured above and below in 1953 while filming his seminal underwater documentary titled "The Silent World", which won him the Academy Award that year for best documentary.
Jacques-Yves Cousteau was also instrumental in the development of the Rolex SEA-DWELLER along with the U.S. Navy SEALAB Program, and in the future, when I complete this chapter, I will go into more detail on this fascinating subject.
Below you can watch an episode of The Undersea World Of Jacques Cousteau which covers Conshelf.
