I have written extensively about The History Of The Rolex President in the past. It has been said that every Rolex Tells A Story, and that Rolex not only tells time, but it also tells history. There is a great deal of truth to this point, as you will learn in this story. 

Jim Garrison was the New Orleans District Attorney when The President Of The United States, John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Jim Garrison is the only prosecutor in the United States who filed criminal charges in the assassination of President Kennedy. 

The photos below of Jim Garrison were taken on December 11, 1968, during a press conference in which he announced that the day after President Nixon would be sworn into office on January 21, 1969, he would begin the trail for the assassination conspiracy trial of Clay Shaw. 

Oliver Stone's movie JFK was based upon Jim Garrison's prosecution of Clay Shaw, 55, a retired businessman who was first indicted by Garrison on the charge of conspiring to kill President Kennedy in early 1967. Notice Garrison is wearing his Datejust on a Jubilee bracelet in the photo above.

Jim Garrison believed that JFK's assassination was a coupe d'état spearheaded by U.S. President Johnson, as well as FBI Director, J. Edgar Hoover, coupled with elements in CIA. Jim Garrison is pictured below in 1970 wearing his Rolex Datejust on a Jubilee bracelet as he wins the 1970 District Attorney Election. Kevin Costner famously played the role of Jim Garrison in Oliver Stones movie titled JFK.

If you want to take the blue pill and believe that Oswald was a lone assassin and that Jim Garrison was completely wrong stop reading here, and believe the fake history. If you want the truth, and the real history, take the red pill and review all the historical facts. This first video features an interview with Jim Garrison by Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show. Only 6 minutes of video of this interview has ever been released, as VCR's did not exist in the late 1960s. Audio recorders did however exist, thus 100% of the audio exists in this video.

The videos below are interviews of retired high ranking U.S. Military Air Force, Colonel L. Fletcher Prouty [1917-2001], who was the basis for the role of Mr. X, in the Oliver Stone JFK movie. In his 23 years [1941-1964] U.S. Military career Colonel Prouty worked in the Pentagon [1955-1963], as well as working closely with the Director of the CIA.

Home, was hired as a Senior Analyst on for The Military Records Team investigator for The AARB (Assassination Records Review Board) in Washington DC for the three final years of the AARB's 4 years lifespan, which ran from August 1995 to September 1998.

The Truth Is Out There

The photo below of Jim Garrison was taken on April 29, 1978, and shows him wearing a Rolex Day-Date, and if you look closely you can see him wearing the Rolex President bracelet. This is ironic in the sense that the man he was seeking to ultimately procecute was President Johnson, who not only wore the exact same watch, but was the person the Rolex "President" bracelet was named for.

I think this Tiffany & CO., Ad is from 1960 and it is the earliest one I have ever seen that showcases a Rolex Submariner. Very Cool!!! The Reference 5508 Submariner was rated to 100 meters, and the 5510 was the first to be rated to 200 meters.

Jose from Perezcope.com just completed his last major update of his amazing HISTORY OF THE ROLEX SEA-DWELLER poster, and it is some kind of wonderful. The latest version of the poster ads much more fascinating detail as well a great deal of refinement. For instance, the Titanic ship grew tremendously to achieve a much better scale, and the USS Thresher Submariner was added to the timeline. Probably, the most outstanding new detail is the addition of the James Cameron DEEP-SEA is pictured on the far right. Since the gradient on the Cameron DEAP-SEA is very similar to the gradient on the poster, it really pops!!

I have worked with Jose on this poster for a long time now discussing historic, language and layout details. That being said, Jose deserves 100% of the credit for making this poster AMAZING!!!! I remember when Jose got started, and sent me the first draft, and I thought it was very cool, but I have to say the final version you are seeing above is an absolute work of high-art. On a side-note, Jose recently mentioned to me he is working on a Rolex Daytona Timeline Poster, which I am certain will be incredible!!!

Just when you thought reality once again could not get any stranger than fiction, it has, and I am happy to share EXCLUSIVE "REAL" NEWS with you that you won't find anywhere else on or off the web. I have to admit that the roller-coaster-ride the world has been on with Amelia Earhart news has been really fascinating and overwhelmingly emotional at the same time!?!! 

If you have been following this story, on Jake's Rolex World, you know I have been staying on top of all the developments in this case. On the web now, as I write this, there are still many news outlets, and online publications and bloggers writing about Act II in this case. For me, that's old news already. It's literally yesterday's stale news. They are all pretty much copying and pasting the same story, while trying to ridicule The History Channel with catchy link-bait stories with titles like: "How a Blogger Exploded the Hot New Theory About Amelia Earhart With Only 30 Minutes of Online Searching."

As a real historian I am not interested in playing gotcha, or trying to embarrass anybody. Instead, I am only interested in the truth. So, I am skipping you way ahead of the curve to offer you EXCLUSIVE and genuine Act III information, that you won't find anywhere else on or off the web.

Last night, when I was going to sleep, I was thinking about the most recent revelations from a Japanese Military History blogger about how the purported photo of Amelia Earhart that appeared in the History Channel Documentary had apparently been misdated by at least two years. Then I thought, about how frustrating all this confusing news was, and I thought to myself 'Why can't the U.S. Government just step-in and clarify what actually happened?'

Exclusive Evidence

What you are about to see and read is game-changing evidence that is exclusive to Jake's Rolex World. You won't find a copy of the letter you are about to see and read on History.com, or NationalGeographic.com, or on NYTimes.com, or on CNN, or on any blogs from Japanese Military Historians. 

The source of this letter and information is from a Senior Archivist at The United States National Archives that just published a very detailed, fascinating blog post that actually told the story about how the Japanese government aided the United States in the search for Amelia Earhart. This fact, of course, contradicts a major part of the premise of the History Channel Documentary. Below is a letter from the Japanese Embassy in Washington D.C., that confirms the Japanese Government attempted in earnest to help the United States find Amelia Earhart. 

If you take the blue pill, the story ends. You wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. If you take the red pill and read what Senior Archivist, Dr. Greg Bradsher, of The United States National Archives wrote, be certain to read his first comment located below his recent blog post. 

So I went from being happy to learn the world had finally achieved closure on the plight of Amelia Earhart, to being sad, just two days later to find out it was apparently not true, to being somewhat happier to learn the Japanese tried in good faith to try and help the U.S. find Amelia. All in all, the blessing-in-disguise with this entire story has been an AMAZING HISTORY LESSON...

I will also mention, I am curious to learn more about how accurate the 1935 dating is on the controversial photo that came from the supposed Japanese Military History blogger. I just can't seem to wrap my head around how the person in that photo is not Amelia Earhart. Specifically, Amelia Earhart had such an unusual and awkward build and haircut for a woman, and back in 1935-1937, NO men had their hair cut below the ear. A lot of sources in the press have been knocking the History Channel Investigators for mistaking the photo for being of Earhart & Noonan, with their airplane on the back of a barge, but I have to say the photographic evidence in that photo is beyond compelling!?!!

There is so much contradictory information in this case. For instance, the fact the Marshall Islands issued a set of 50th Anniversary Stamps that commemorate Amelia Earhart's crash landing is just bizarre, and highly contradicts many points and counterpoints made to date. Why would the Marshall Islands government issue such stamps if there was zero truth behind them!?!!

So now what? What is next? I don't know? I have no plans to permanently convert Jake's Rolex World to Jake's Search For Amelia Earhart World, but if any more interesting news comes up, I will add it...Now, back to our regular scheduled program :-)

Refutes Amelia Earhart History Channel Findings

It turns out that reality is stranger than fiction... In a stunning turn of events, it appears one of the greatest unsolved mysteries of the 20th century went from being unsolved, to being solved, and went back to being unsolved all in the course of a few days!?!! Many sources, including National Geographic claim they have discovered evidence that refutes the hypothesis put forward by the History Channel Amelia Earhart Documentary I have written about twice.

Many news outlets have been covering this quickly unfolding story, and I must admit my favorite coverage so far came from MediaITE, which so colorfully wrote: 

"Lost amidst the chaos of the latest Trump/Russia revelations, has been one of the most extraordinary tales of epic media failure in recent times. This one was a REAL “Fake News!” story."

The new claim being put forth says that a Japanese Military history blogger recently came forward and presented new evidence (seen in the photo above) claiming the photo in question was NOT taken in 1937, but was taken two years earlier in 1935!?!!

CNN reported: "Two bloggers say they have found the photo in a Japanese coffee table book dated 1935 -- when Earhart was safely in the United States. The bloggers claim the photo was originally published in a travel book titled "Naval life line; the view of our South Pacific: Photo album of Southern Pacific Islands."

Here is a link to the National Geographic's story that is refuting The History Channel claims. The photo above came from a similar article that was published by NPR, which I believe was the first to break the story.

So what do I think? I honestly don't know what to think. I am stunned, and just today I spoke on the phone at length with Stan Barrett, and he and I agreed that the evidence was overwhelmingly compelling, and we both assumed the case was closed. Of course, anything is possible, but there is one thing I can't get passed, and that is the shape of the haircut of the person who appears to be Amelia Earhart in the ONI photo. Either way, we will soon see...hopefully...
