Rolex is always full of surprises, and as a lead sponsor of the Academy Awards, Rolex for the past several years has decorated the green Room at the Oscars.
Rolex surprised many people by showcasing a Rolex Day-Date in the Oscars Greenroom, that nobody has ever seen before. Some people believe Rolex was conducting a 'soft-launch' of this new 40MM Day-Date model which features Everose gold 40 mm with a beautiful slate ombré dial. You won't find this new beauty on Rolex.com, but it stands to reason Rolex may officially launch it at Watches & Wonders next month in Switzerland.
The watch was visible in the “every hero needs an ally” on the Rolex instagram channel and YouTube video. It was also present in a picture on Rolex.com underneath the video featuring Scorsese, therefore, it might be named just that… the Scorsese Day-Date?
Martin Scorsese's latest move received 10 Academy Award nominations this year, and as a congratulatory celebration Rolex put together this superb tribute video.
