BONO from U2
A Stunning Career With Rolex Keeping His Time
Bono was born Paul David Hewson on May 10, 1960 in Glasnevin, Dublin, Ireland. He began his music career with U2 which is one of the most successful rock bands in history. Bono writes almost all of U2's profound lyrics.
Bono has been wearing Rolex watches for many years. He seems to have started with a stainless Rolex Datejust as seen in the next two photos, and then ended up wearing a platinum Rolex Day-Date as seen above...
Bono's lyrics have always been deeply spiritual, profound and emotionally moving. Bono was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize and knighted by Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.
In the next two (more recent) photos we see Bono wearing a Platinum Rolex Day-Date or Rolex President.
Amazing Humanitarian Achievements
Bono is a board member of Elevation Partners and refurbished and owns the Clarence Hotel in Dublin with The Edge. Bono is also renowned for his activism regarding African countries. Bono co-founded the ONE Product Red among other organizations to help third world countries overcome the challenge of poverty. Bono, like his Rolex watches are absolute classics!!!
In The Name Of Love
It is profound, because one of U2's first mega-hits was In The Name Of Love which was about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It is profound because Bono was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize and Dr. Martin Luther King actually won the Nobel Peace Prize. It is also profound in my mind that both Bono and Dr. Martin Luther King both wore a Rolex Datejust.
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
Since we were just checking out The Boss (Bruce Springsteen) wearing his stainless steel Rolex Submariner I thought I would share these great videos of Bono with U2 & The Boss. This first video of Stand By Me is from 1987!!! It is amazing how many musicians wear Rolex!!!
In this next set of photos we see President Obama President Obama meeting in the Oval Office with Bono from U2 who is an anti-poverty activist.
Bono is a fascinating man and very quick-witted. He is an admirer of President Obama, and I remember once I heard Bono say that Obama had once been spelled with an apostrophe "O'bama" as if to suggest Obama was an Irish name.
In the photo above, we see Bono wearing his now trademark Platinum Rolex Day-Date. I say, "now" trademark, because he used to wear a stainless Rolex Datejust.
