Roger Federer
Wins Wimbledon 2012 Championship

Wimbledon is considered to be the greatest tennis tournament in the world. Today, the greatest tennis player in history, Roger Federer, continued his rendezvous with history as he won the Wimbledon 2012 Championship for the 7th time in his career, thus tying Pete Sampras as the only other person to win 7 Wimbledon Championships.

Rolex sponsored and was the official timekeeper for Wimbledon 2012, and of course Roger Federer is a Rolex ambassador, so we see him below with his Wimbledon Championship trophy, which matches his Rolex Day-Date II.

Roger's 41 mm Rolex Day-Date II looks like it is Rose Gold, or as Rolex calls it "Everose Gold." Upon close inspection, Roger's Rolex Day-Date appears to have baguette diamond and ruby indices on the black dial.

Earnest Borgnine

Earnest Borgnine passed away today at age 95!!! He is one of the most beloved actors in history, and he is pictured below in 1981 with his wife, he is still married to, and he notice he is sporting his Rolex Submariner.

Earnest Borgnine is perhaps best known for his role in McHale's Navy (1962-1966), and before that, in 1955 he won an Academy Award for Best Actor in his leading role in the movie, Marty. Borgnine also starred in Airwolf in the 1980s. Most recently, Earnest Borgnine experienced critical acclaim for his role as Mermaid Man in the cartoon series named SpongeBob SquarePants.

In the photo below we see a cast publicity shot from McHale's Navy, which has a major deja vu effect on me ;-)
