Rolex Coolness: Tom Kristensen: The New Face Of Rolex Racing

...Rolex Super Coolness...

Tom Kristensen

Mr. Le Mans

The Face Of Rolex Racing

9 Time Winner Of The 24 Hours Of Le Mans

Le Mans racing legend Tom Kristensen has been a Rolex Ambassador now for 15 years now and is widely regarded as being the greatest endurance driver in racing history. Tom Kristensen is from Denmark and he is 57 years old. His racing career achievements are amazing!!! Rolex just came out with this great video named "Tom Kristensen-Don't Blink", which is amazing!:

Tom Kristensen not only holds the record for the most 24 Hours of Le Mans wins, with nine wins, but six of them were consecutive back-to-back—from 2000 to 2005!!!

Tom Kristensen is known as "The King Of Le Mans." The 24 Hours of Le Mans is considered to be the most prestigious endurance auto race in the world and it is also the oldest, having been around for 89decades.

Tom Kristensen won the 24 Hours Of Le Mans a record-setting nine times!!! Tom Kristensen says "To win, you need to be fast and steady, you need to manage and extend the performance of your car while staying consistent and accurate in you driving–every lap, every second, every hundredth of a second counts!!!"

In many ways Tom Kristensen makes the perfect Rolex Ambassador. He kind of looks like Steve McQueen, with his clean-cut, cool style, doesn't he?

Rolex & Formula 1

This Week-End

Formula 1 Season Begins

I'm excited to announce that the 2021 season of Formula 1 has officially started this weekend in Bahrain. Since 2013, Rolex has been a Global Partner and Official Timepiece of Formula 1

Pilots tend to be fascinated by fast moving machines and I'm no exception. I love as much NASCAR as I do Formula 1, and the Grand Prix of Monaco has always been my favorite. Maybe that's why I currently wear a Rolex Daytona in the cockpit.

Nico Rosberg

Formula 1 World Champion

"I have always admired Rolex’s prestigious history and involvement in sport. Rolex has long-been synonymous with excellence and has partnered with some of the greatest athletes in the history of sport. My life has revolved around timing and my racing has always come down to those final split seconds.”

—Nico Rosberg

Nico Rosberg sent shockwaves through the Formula 1 paddock when he announced his retirement almost simultaneously with his 2016 world championship win. Nico is pictured below with Sir Jackie Stewart and Mark Webber.

In 2018 Nico Rosberg interviewed Formula One founder Bernie Ecclestone. They had a fascinating conversation which you can watch below:

Nico Rosberg is pictured below with his gorgeous wife who also wears Rolex watches.

Retired Formula 1 racing legend Nico Rosberg put the Porsche GT2 up against a Tesla Model 3 back in March of 2019, and the results may surprise you. Fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the ride.

Rolex Daytona has always been inspired by and associated with high-performance automobiles as seen below in this Japanese Rolex Cosmograph Daytona leaflet from 1972. Ironically, we see Monaco in the background of this image. It's a small world after all...

How a young boy grew up to save his father's Rolex...

The Chosen One

How a young boy grew up to save his father's Rolex

A Beautiful Story Of Submariner Serendipity

I posted my last update for this ongoing Loren Janes/Steve McQueen investigation on June 12, 2018, so I just wanted to give you another update.

It has been said that Every Rolex Tells A Story, and this is profoundly true. I would know as I have likely studied and written more Rolex stories than anybody else on earth. Out of all the Rolex stories I have ever shared, I don't recall one that was as crazy/interesting as this one!!!

Researching this Loren Janes/Steve McQueen Rolex Submariner story has been like being on the most amazing roller-coaster ride! This story has taken so many twists and turns—so much so, it seems like the roller coaster jumped off its tracks and started flying around in the sky! It's that 'out there.'

Today I formally completed my investigation and have concluded my extensive interviewing process. It has also been said that reality is often times stranger than fiction and this case (pun intended) is no exception. I am sharing the photo above that was taken in 1969 of Steve McQueen with Eric Janes, who is Loren Janes' son.

There is a lot more to this picture than meets the eye, and as soon as I complete my story I will elaborate more on this subject. In this upcoming story, I will also share all my research evidence with you, which I believe will paint a different story than what you might expect. This is a story of, fate, serendipity, and superstardom. It is a human story about friendship and one-upmanship. It is a story about magic and confusion...

Not only does this Rolex tell a story, it tells history...and pretty soon we'll hop in the Rolex time machine and travel back in time to learn what REALLY happened in this story. Stay Tuned, and Keep Your Seatbelt Tightened...

Andrew St. Pierre White

Andrew St. Pierre White

Back in the 1980s Rolex published a booklet titled, "Every Rolex Tells A Story", which was offered to Rolex customers through Authorized Rolex Dealers. The booklet consisted of fascinating letters Rolex customers had sent in over the years. These letters told amazing stories of what customers Rolex had gone through. Recently Rolex began publishing a micro-site that collects and share Rolex Stories, titled, "Every Rolex Tells A Story.

This video is probably one of the absolute best Rolex stories I have ever heard, and I highly recommend watching it!!!!

Jack Nicklaus 1967 Rolex President Day-Date...

Hodinkee Interview

Jack Nicklaus
1967 Rolex President Day-Date

50 Anniversary of Wearing The Same Rolex

Benjamin Clymer from Hodinkee just published an AMAZING interview with golf legend, Jack Nicklaus, who is the widely considered to be one of the greatest golfers of all time.

Jack Nicklaus in a recent photo sporting his yellow gold Rolex Day-Date. Personally, I think yellow gold Rolex watches look really cool on men and women with blond hair, like Jack Nicklaus. Jack Nicklaus won The Open in 1966, 1970 and 1978.

The photo below shows Jack Nicklaus in 1978 after winning The Open, and he is wearing his Rolex Day-Date.

Jack has been wearing a Rolex Day-Date since 1967, so this year marks the 50th year he has worn Rolex. The photo below of Jack Nicklaus wearing a Rolex Day-Date was taken in 1968, when he was 28 years old. It is the oldest known photo of him wearing a Rolex that I have been able to find. Ironically, prior to wearing his yellow gold Rolex Day-Date for 50 years straight, he never wore a watch.

Every Rolex Tells A Story

Rolex's most recent, "Every Rolex Tells A Story" Testimony comes from legendary Academy Award winning Director, James Cameron. James Cameron's career achievements are amazing, as is his so are all of his Rolex connection points.

In the video above, James Cameron how he wore his Rolex Submariner when he shot his epic film, Titanic, and in the photos below, we see him wearing it on set.

James Cameron mentioned wearing his trusted Rolex Submariner when he won the Oscar for Best Picture Of The Year, and we see it on his wrist in the photos below.

James Cameron also mentioned giving his original Rolex Submariner as a gift to the Amazonian Indian Chief, which we see in the photo below.

James Cameron is pictured below wearing his Rolex Submariner on the set of Terminator 2: Judgement Day in 1991 with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
