An Amazing Career: Michael Bublé

A Rolex Documentary

Michael Bublé

The Life of a Timeless Singing Legend

Rolex recently released this amazing documentary where legendary recording artist, Michael Bublé tells his story about how he struggled to launch his career, but in the final analysis prevailed, and he also talks about how humbled he was later in life with a family challenge. I first wrote about Michael Bublé as a Rolex ambassador back in 2015. Bublé is super cool, in an old school Rat Pack, but modernized kind of way, and I love how upbeat his music is…Bublé in many ways is just like a Rolex in the sense that he's always highly professional, consistent and keeps great time, while being timeless...

I originally published the image below and Christmas video back in 2015, but I decided to add it to this story. Back in 2015 I mentioned Rolex's Instagram Page and how it had a bunch of famous people posting selfies of themselves sporting their Rolex watches. The photo below of singer Michael Buble appears on that page.

I thought since were in the holiday Christmas season, it would be nice to check out the following Michael Bublé Christmas Special.

Captain Danny Chimes In

I was just chatting with Captain Danny about this story and he made a really profound point when he said:

"I was just listening to Michael Bublé over Christmas. We have speakers in our house and I was playing his Xmas album. He represents Rolex well. He has class, wears a suit, and sings the old traditional songs.

Rolex's new slogan of "reaching for the Crown" is about highlighting the struggle on the way to success. That's a departure from previous slogans like "Men who guide the Destinies of the world Wear Rolex", which highlights just success without the reach for it...

So Rolex's new video series makes a point of highlighting the struggle before the success. When I read your article and you mentioned the struggle, it made me think of that.

I am including the story below that was written by our Captain Danny, on how inspired he is with Michael Bublé's career achievements and music.

The 2020 Grammy Awards aired back on Sunday Jan. 26 at 8:00 p.m. ET, and Rolex Testimonee Michael Bublé was been nominated for a fifth Grammy. I'm a big fan of Michael Bublé. I love his voice and rat-pack style—and his signature suit and tie. Just pure class.

The Canadian singer, songwriter, actor and record producer has been nominated for Best Album in the Traditional Pop Vocal category for his album "Love."

Bublé is successful today but struggled for 10 years to make his dream into a reality. After countless nights singing in front of little more than his family and friends, Bublé’s breakthrough finally came. Upon the success of his first album, his record label offered him a Rolex watch, which he came to see as a measurement of his hard work and dedication to reach his dream.

"When I look at my watch today I see a measurement of my success. A measurement of the hard work, the dedication, and some luck, but also a combination of years and years of people believing in me, and me never quitting on myself — that’s what I see. I see the son of generations of fishermen who could never believe that they would ever have something like this in their possession in their lifetime."

"To be able to have something to hold in your hand that you know you have because of everything you did is a great feeling, it truly is. It is a tangible example of what can happen if you never quit and you put in those hours. And you never, ever accept the word no."

Michael Bublé wears the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona in Platinum with ice-blue dial and chestnut brown bezel, reference 116506.

Bublé is not just a Rolex Testimonee, he is truly a fan who wears his Rolex everywhere. He creates memories with his Platinum Daytona whether on stage...

... or while being inducted to the Hollywood Walk of Fame...

...or casually hanging out with his son.
