Nick Gould discovered these photos of AMD CEO, Lisa Su featured on the cover of TIME Magazine rocking her yellow gold Rolex Lady Datejust with a diamond bezel, and Nick said, "Women who guide the destinies of the world wear Rolex Watches", and suggested "Rolex should have run that altered tagline in the past. Time.com has a fascinating article all about what makes Lisa Su so successful, and it includes a video interview, and her role in developing innovative chips for AI (Artificial Intelligence).
Lisa was born Lisa-Tzwu-Fang Su in Taiwan, and moved to the United States as a young child at 3 years of age. She went on to earn three degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and went on to work at Texas Instruments, IMB and Freescale Semiconductor in engineering and management. Su is perhaps best known for developing silicon-on-insulator semiconductor manufacturing technology, and specialized in making semiconductor chips far more efficient while at IBM's Semiconductor Research and Development Center.
In 2014, Su was appointed President and CEO of AMD in October of 2014 after joining the company in 2012 where she held roles like senior VP of AMD's global business units. Most profoundly, during her tenure as CEO of AMD, their market capitalization has grown from 3 Billion to more than $200 Billion. As a mater of fact, AMD overtook Intel in market capitalization.
