Lindsey Vonn during her 2018 Olympic run by Doug Mills/ The New York Times
You may have read my recent article on Rolex Ambassador, Lindsey Vonn as she prepared to compete in the 2018 Winter Olympics. Lindsey Vonn recently won the Bronze medal at the PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games. Lindsey is 33 years old today, which likely means this was her last Olympic performance, although you never know...
So let's begin by taking a close look at the bejeweled 41MM yellow gold Rolex Day-Date II she was wearing. Lindsey's model features a baguette diamond bezel with a diamond and ruby dial.
Lindsey Vonn set a record as she was the first American woman to ever win a gold medal in the Winter Olympics for downhill skiing when she won back in 2010. By winning the bronze medal at the 2018 winter Olympics, Lindsey set another record when she became the oldest woman to ever win a medal in the downhill skiing event.
Lindsey Vonn's Olympic experience was extremely emotional for her as you will learn by watching these videos about her relationship with her beloved Grandfather. Alert: Watching these highly emotional videos will probably make you cry...and hopefully smile as well...
"I wanted to win for my grandfather but I didn't. But I think he would still be proud of me for bronze, and I think that's what counts. My family is proud of me and I'm proud of myself. Today bronze to me feels like gold."
Rolex Ambassador, @ Lindsey Vonn, is a fast moving woman! Literally and figuratively, as she prepares to compete in the 2018 Winter Olympics which begin on February 9th.
Today the New York Times Magazine published a fascinating story in "The Olympic Issue," titled "The Workout That Saves Lindsey Vonn From Wipeouts." The first three black and white photos of Lindsey Vonn above and below are from that NYTM article. It's interesting to see Lindsey wears her Rolex Day-Date while she is working out.
The photo below of Lindsey Vonn was taken several days ago on January 26, 2018, as she races down on her first alpine sky run at the Women's World Cup combined race in Linzerheide, Switzerland.

Lindsey Vonn is an Olympic Gold Medal Champion Skier, and she is gorgeous! In the picture below she is sporting the new Rolex Pearlmaster 39 in EverRose Gold.
Lindsey Vonn was the first American women to win a Gold Medal in the Olympic Downhill. She is pictured below at the 2010 Olympic Games that took place in Whistler, British Columbia.
The new Rolex PearlMaster is an updated version of the 34MM Pearlmaster, and it now features the Rolex Movement Caliber 3235. All the diamonds are VERY CAREFULLY chosen by Rolex Gem-setters in Rolex's Geneva workshop.
The Rolex PearlMaster pictured above, the one Lindsey Vonn is wearing, is fully blinged out, and the one below still has a lot of diamonds, but is more toned down. The combination below of the EverRose Gold with the purple dial is extremely regal and elegant.
Congratulating Lindsey For Her Olympic Gold Win!!!
Last week I put up a story about Lindsey Vonn when she took the Gold Medal in the 2010 Winter Olympics for Women's Downhill. I just noticed on Rolex.com they have a very nice congratulatory message...
Lindsey Vonn took first place and won the women's Downhill Olympics Gold Medal in Whistler, British Columbia at the 2010 winter olympics. At age 9, Lindsey Vonn met Olympic downhill silver medalist, Picabo Street in a Minnesota ski shop and at that moment she decided she wanted to be just like her one day, but Vonn achieved even more.

Yesterday, Vonn became the first American women to win a gold medal in the Olympic downhill. The fact she won is even more impressive when you realize she was suffering from a very painful recent accident that seriously injured her shin.
Lindsey is pictured above and below sporting her stainless steel Rolex Datejust on a Super Jubilee bracelet.
Lindsey Vonn is pictured below on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Olympics Special Cover.
In the next 3 pictured from Sports Illustrated, we see Lindsey Vonn posing for a bikini photo shoot in Sports Illustrated. Oh Behave!!!!
As I mentioned in the story above, Lindsey Vonn's role-model was American Olympic medal winner, Picabo Street who is featured in the vintage Rolex ad below. Picabo won a gold medal in the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, and a silver medal in the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. She also won 3 World Championship medals in her amazing career.
Historically Rolex has always been extremely secretive and discreet, and no journalists in the past have ever been invited "INSIDE ROLEX" to explore and report on all four Rolex Manufacturing faclities in Switzerland.
In November 2013, this changed when Rolex invited Jake to take an unprecdented journey into the heart of Rolex to learn and report on everything he witnessed and learned.
This Super-Detailed 3 Part Story is a "MUST READ" story for anybody who wants to understand what really makes Rolex tick.
