1967 French Rolex Yellow Gold Day-Date...

Marko owns this beautiful 1967  Reference 1803 Rolex Day-Date sold in 1976 with blank papers.

Marko is from Europe and this Day-Date has a Day of the week Dial in French. Lundi translates to Monday.

I believe Rolex offers the Day of the week dial indicator in 26 different languages.

Pussy Galore Rolex...

This is about James Bond, Pussy Galore, and Rolex.

In particular, this is about Pussy Galore's Rolex GMT Reference 6542.

I will briefly summarize Goldfinger and the character of Pussy Galore.  Pussy works for Goldfinger, and she is a lipstick lesbian.

When James Bond first meets her he tries to seduce her, but she tells him she is not interested in men.

Pussy is Goldfinger's personal pilot, and of course since she is a Pilot she wears a Rolex GMT Master with the Pepsi Bezel.  Rolex GMT Model Reference 6542 to be exact.

I think the most amazing thing about the Pussy Galore character, played by the gorgeous actress, Honor Blackman is she represents the first time a woman wore a man's 40MM Sport Rolex in history–at least, that I am aware of.  In other words, I don't know of a photo of a woman taken prior to 1964 wearing a 40mm Men's Rolex Sports watch that pre-dates Pussy's character in Goldfinger.

Of course at the end of the movie, James Bond ends up seducing Pussy and converts her from a lesbian.

Oh Behave!!!  Now look at these shots where James is seducing Pussy.  Look at this clear shot of the Rolex GMT 6542 on her wrist.  It is amazing how timeless these images look.  They could have been shot yesterday.

Many women and men, including myself, think a woman wearing a Man's 40mm Sport Rolex is really stylish and sexy.  It is fascinating to realize the trend of women wearing men's Rolex watches started with James Bond and Pussy Galore.

I always loved this scene from Goldfinger where James is looking at this beautiful woman like lunch...Then as she walks away James slaps her behind.  That Sean Connery is a masculine actor!!! (Sorry, could not resist using that classic line from Trainspotting.)

Ultra Rare Rolex Space Dweller...

Rolex Deep Space

Jake's Rolex Watch Blog is not just a regular Watch Blog. We are exploring every scintilla of Rolex History.

Yes, This is an authentic Rolex that is ultra rare.  It is known as the Rolex "Space Dweller" Reference Number 1016.

This Rolex Oyster Perpetual was first sold in Japan in 1963 just after the Mercury Astronauts visited the land of the Rising Sun.  The Space Dweller was designed to honor the Astronauts who were perceived as being the ultimate explorers.

The Rolex Space Dweller was not a big seller and is ultra-rare.
