Wimbledon 2024 Tom Cruise hanging out with Rolex CEO
Captain Danny just published a great article on his Coronet Rolex blog that showed legendary American Actory, Tom Cruise hanging out with the Rolex CEO, Jean-Frédéric Dufour, and Director of Communications, and former Wimbledon men's tennis competitor, Arnaud Boetsch in the Rolex box @ Wimbledon 2024 during the women's singles finals championship tournament on Saturday.

It's the 4th of July, and in the United States we celebrate Independence Day. When I think of the 4th of July, I think of Barbecue, Shorts, Flip Flops, and an ice cold drink, as well as fireworks you enjoy with friends, which reminds me of Jimmy Buffet.
Unfortunately we lost Jimmy Buffett. last September , but his amazing songs are still very much with us and perfect anthems to listen to this summer of Independence Day.
Jimmy Buffett wore Rolex watches for 5 decades and is perhaps best known for his song, Margaritaville which was a mega-hit in 1977.
Jimmy Buffett's music is known as "Island Escapism", which is a form of country folk music, coupled with pop music, with tropical themes running through his lyrics. This form of music is also know as Gulf & Western. We see Jimmy Buffett pictured above and below in 1977 wearing his Rolex GMT-Master. I could not help but notice the anchor Jimmy Buffett is wearing around his neck in the photo above and below look a lot like the the one that comes in the box with the Rolex Submariner.

Jimmy Buffett was a Protégé ofJim Croce, who also wore a Rolex sports watch. When Jim Croce died, ABC Dunhill chose Jimmy Buffett to take Jim Croce's place. In the video below we see Jimmy Buffett performing Margaritaville, back in the 1978, and he is wearing his yellow gold Rolex GMT.
In the recent photo below, we see Jimmy Buffett performing with stainless steel GMT Master on his wrist. Jimmy Buffett is more popular today than ever, and he is one of the hardest working live musicians. Jimmy Buffett is a cultural phenomenon in many ways, and has a following of fans which have a commonly used nickname of Parrotheads.
There is even a special nickname for Jimmy Buffett's younger fans, as well for the children of Parrotheads, which are referred to as Parakeets, or Keets. Jimmy Buffett's immense popularity with his highly dedicated fans would be akin to Deadheads who would follow the Grateful Dead all over the place, thus the similarity between Parrotheads, and Deadheads.
Jimmy Buffett is an amazing man, and an accomplished airplane pilot, and sailor, and surfer. His life is filled with many amazing lifetime achievements. Today, Jimmy owns a line of restaurants named Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville. He also owns casinos under the same name and other business ventures. The video below was shot on Google campus, and features a great discussion from Jimmy Buffett, as well as a performance.

Speaking of Rolex President's rocking Rolex watches, President Biden showed up at his inauguration rocking a stainless steel Rolex Datejust that his wife gave him as a congratulatory gift, as seen below in his wrist during his inauguration swearing in ceremony and speech.

Speaking of U.S. President's rocking Rolex, it's interesting to see some of their sons also rocking Rolex. In the photo below we see President Eisenhower's son, John Eisenhower rocking his yellow gold Rolex Datejust just like his father's Rolex model.
Below we see Hunter Biden posing with his father, while rocking his Batman GMT-Master.
In the photos below we see the Catholic Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, wearing his two-tone Rolex Datejust on a Jubilee Bracelet.

It is also interesting to note that in the photo above, that both Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul both not only wore Rolex Datejust models on a Jubilee bracelet, but they both also were shot at close range in assassination attempts that occurred within 43 days of each other in 1981. Dr. Martin Luther King was also wearing his Rolex Datejust when he was assassinated.
Pope John Paul and Ronald Reagan, both, in many ways symbolized the 1980s generation, and both passed away within a year of each other in the mid 2000s.
Pope Paul completely recovered and is pictured below with Mother Theresa. I think they were both very kind souls.
