A reader of Jake's Rolex World who is an amazing researcher just sent this in: This is a fascinating story as we see below the very first Rolex ad that appeared in Sports Illustrated and it features not only a Rolex Turn-O-Graph, but an early Submariner that appears to be dubbed "SKINDIVER". I can't tell if the term "SKINDIVER" is descriptive or not, but nonetheless it's fascinating. The Submariner features the 'lollipop second hand'. This Rolex Magazine ad ran in the May 23rd, 1955 issue of Sports Illustrated.
