William Hurt was one of the great actors of our time and he unfortunately passed away today at age 71. Hurt is perhaps most famous for his 1980s roles in iconic films like Altered States (1980), Body Heat (1981) The Big Chill (1983), and Broadcast News (1987).
Hurt won the Academy Award for Best Actor in the 1986 movie titled, "Kiss Of The Spider Woman." He was also nominated for Best Actor in 1987 for Children Of A Lesser God, and again in 1988 for Broadcast News. He also received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 2006 for his role in the movie named, "A History Of Violence."
