Madly In Love with the new White Gold Submariner...
Madly in Love!!!
Eric Ku of 10pastten.com is the top vintage Rolex dealer in the San Francisco, Bay Area–and one really cool guy. At the San Francisco watch GTG Eric showed up with the most mouth dropping collection of vintage Rolex watches.
Imagine how shocked I was to find out that he is madly in love with his new white gold Rolex Submariner. He says he wears it everyday and it is not coming off his wrist!!!
Why is this so shocking!?! Because most vintage Rolex guys are not into the current Rolex watches–just like many people who are into new Rolex watches are not into vintage. Eric said he is amazed with how beautiful in person the new blue ceramic bezel and blue dial are.
Of course the new Supercase, with Maxi markers and fat hands are really cool as is the profoundly well designed and engineered glide-lock clasp. This watch just became available to the public for purchase a month ago.

We always think of Tom Selleck as wearing a stainless steel Pepsi GMT on an Oyster bracelet, but in this photo he is wearing a yellow gold GMT Master with a black bezel and dial on a Jubilee bracelet.
Rolex Datejust Beauty...
Some Would Say Perfection
This yellow gold Rolex Datejust has a beautiful white porcelain dial with raised yellow gold Roman numerals, a domed bezel and an Oyster bracelet. Some would say this is perfection that can no longer be improved.
Yellow gold Rolex Datejust watches seem to be very rare. I imagine if people spend that much money, they figure they might as well go the Full Monte and get the Day-Date. Either way, this is one good looking watch!!!

The Rolex watch pictured in this photo of Chuck Yeager is back where it was originally made in Switzerland, at the Rolex company in their private historic collection. Chuck Yeager wore his Rolex Oyster when he became the first man to break the speed of sound record on October 14, 1947.

I always thought Chuck Yeager wore a Pepsi GMT Master but as you can see if you click on the high-resolution photo below, he wears a Coke.
Here is a recent photo of Chuck Yeager and it looks like he is sticking with his Coke GMT Master II. Chuck Yeager has been wearing Rolex watches for at least 61 years now.
