I just noticed Rolex put up another teaser video on Rolex.com as well as on their Instagram page! which you can see by visiting Instagram.com/Rolex.
So What are we seeing this time? It is so hard to say? Maybe it's a Rolex Smart Watch? Whatever it is, the case and bezel look extremely curvy and symmetrical, although it could just be fancy camerawork. It is obviously worth noting that all the top Rolex Instagram images are Rolex Daytona related. Now I'm really curious!!!
BaselWorld 2016 is just around the corner, and it starts on March 16, 2015. I just noticed that Rolex posted a BaselWorld 2016 teaser on their Instagram.com/Rolex page. So what are we seeing?
My best guess is that it looks like a Rolex Daytona lame pattern since the 3, 6 and 9 5 minute markers are shorter and there is not a marker at 12, since the Daytona has a Rolex Crown in this position. So what does this mean? Hopefully we are going to be seeing a larger Daytona at 42 or 44MM. Rolex seems to be getting pretty hip when it comes to social networking...

The photos below were taken by a reader of Jake's Rolex World named Eduardo Cordova of his stainless steel Rolex Daytona, and when you study them you can see the classic Daytona lame patter which looks almost identical to the Rolex Instagram teaser seen above.
So the only unresolved issue is why does the Daytona in the Rolex teaser have a second set of markers glowing outside the dial area, on what appear to be the bezel area?
I have a couple interesting observations about this ad which was published the years I was born. First, it says, "Once upon a time, a ladies' watch was a little frilly thing." This is kind of funny, because the vast majority of women who purchase Rolex watches today don't wear the smaller size Rolex pictured in the ad. Also, it is interesting to note that in the bottom right hand of the ad, it says (Founder: H. Wilsdorf), which is probably the latest Rolex ad I recall seeing that mentions him, despite the fact he had passed away six years prior to this ad being published.
BaselWorld 2016 begins in 10 days on March 17, 2016, and as always, it will be very interesting to see what new models Rolex introduces.
This being said, I thought it would be interesting to take a look back at a really cool watch Rolex introduced year before last. At BaselWorld 2014 Rolex introduced an all-new Rolex Cellini model named the Dual Time. Not so long after, WatchAnish published the first wrist-shot of the new Rolex Cellini Dual Time dress watch as seen below. I like how super-simple the user interface is on this watch in the sense that it basically has two different watch faces.

Charlton Heston Academy Award Winner For Best Actor
It's that time of the year again; time for the Oscars! The 88th Academy Awards will be broadcast all over the world this evening, and it is interesting to note just how many past winners for Best Actor, Best Actress as well as Best Director wear Rolex. There is a really fascinating story behind this Charlton Heston Rolex ad seen below. I originally learned about this Charlton Heston Rolex advertisement from T. Walker Lloyd who was a world renowned DEEP-SEA diver that ended up becoming a Rolex executive for 25 years.

50th Anniversary Rolex LV Submariner
People always ask me what my favorite Rolex watches is? The LV Submariner is definitely one of my favorite vintage Rolex watches. Rolex introduced the LV Submariner to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Rolex Submariner, and instead of putting a standard black bezel insert, they added the green bezel insert, which gives the watch a really fresh, cool look. The LV Submariner also represents the return of the Maxi markers that Rolex stopped making in the early 1980s. Maxi markers are much better, as they are more visible, and aquatic looking.
