Hurley Haywood on Porsche's Domination of Daytona

Hurley Haywood has had an amazing career driving at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and he talks about it in this video.

Recap of Rolex Daytona 24 2011

Last year I covered the 2010 Rolex 24 at Daytona, and here is a recap of the recent 2011 Rolex 24 at Daytona.

2011 SuperBowl Commercials

2011 Mercedes-Benz SuperBowl Commercial
Oh Lord, Won't You Buy Me A Mercedes Benz?

It's that time of the year again and it's almost time for the Superbowl!!! This 2011 Mercedes Superbowl commercial is amazing!!!! Especially, with Janis Joplin singing "Lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz" in the background...

It is remarkable how similar Mercedes and Rolex are as brands if you think about it. I often say Rolex is the Mercedes of watches, and it is really cool in this video to see Mercedes playing up their amazing heritage. In recent years Rolex has gotten much more into playing up their heritage, and I believe Rolex should delve much deeper into showcasing their amazingly wealthy heritage as their ultimate marketing vehicle.

This one is pretty entertaining and a good looking car...

Rolex Made Panerai Small Egiziano [Reference 6154]

Rolex Made Panerai Small Egiziano
[Reference 6154]

Rolex made every vintage Panerai from the very first one in the late 1930s up until the last one in the mid 1950s. The Small Egiziano is pictured below and it is the last model Panarai Rolex ever made in 1955 or 1966. Of course, the Small Egiziano is my favorite Paneari of all time as pictured below. This amazing photo of this amazing Paneria was taken by Martin Wilmsen who publishes The Panerai Wristwatch Blog which is superb!!! The patina on this watch is outrageously beautiful!!!

If you want to learn much, much more on the history of the Rolex made Panerai watches, you could check out the story I wrote named "Panerai & The Italian Navy–The First Professional Rolex Diving Watch."

Playboy Bunny and the Rolex President...

Rolex Studio Shot Of The Day

Playboy Bunny and the Rolex President

...The International Mark Of Success...

Kurt in Germany took this photo of two classic icon's. The Supreme irony of course, is that in the 1980s the Rolex President (with the Champagne dial) was considered to be the international mark of success-for men. Today, this same watch has become the international mark of success for stylish women. Oh, sweet irony...

New Zealand SuperCase Ceramic Submariner
Mario's Two-Tone Cooling Off

Mario is from New Zealand and he is a fan of Jake's Rolex World. Recently he sent in these photos of his two-tone, ceramic Rolex Submariner cooling off. This is the first time I have seen the all-new generation ceramic Submariner with diamond markers, and it appears as if Rolex has increased the size of the diamond markers to match the new Maxi Markers, which looks so much better, and more substantial...Go Steelers ;-)))

San Francisco Night Scenes by Jake Ehrlich...

San Francisco Night Scenes

Jake Ehrlich

Shot with Canon 5D Mark II, with 24 to 105 f/4 IS USM L Lens

I was born and raised in San Francisco, and I imagine it has to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I took these shots tonight and thought I would share them with you. This first shot is of the San Francisco Bay Bridge and San Francisco Skyline with palm trees in the foreground.

Note: Click on images for more detail

This next photo below is a simple photo of the beautiful San Francisco Skyline

I really like this next photo which shows the Bay Bridge traffic heading into San Francisco, with the San Francisco skyline in the background.

This next shot is also of the San Francisco Bay Bridge and I took this one in portrait.

This next shot is of Coit Tower, looking up from underneath

This last image is of the Palace Of Fine Arts located in the San Francisco Marina, and it looks even better today, as it the restoration project was just completed on January 14, 2011, and they added much better lighting to it as you can see.
