Scott Carpenter
SEALAB Submariner
Nick Gould discovered this really cool image of NASA Astronaut & SEALAB Aquanaut, Scott Carpenter rocking his really cool Rolex Submariner with a depth gauge on his strap and thought I would share it with you.
"The Rolex Submariner & Rolex SEA-DWELLER have a cachet that is unmatched by any other watch. The Rolex brand is the most highly respected in my book. The Rolex Submariner was the preferred diving watch for U.S. NAVY SEALAB Divers." –Scott Carpenter

Philip from MoonWatchUniverse wrote in and said:
"The Scott Carpenter photo is only one of a half-a-dozen series of photographs taken during the making of " The Deep Frontier " a 1967 TV-documentary by CBS 21st Century TV - New York, narrated by Walter Cronkite. Aquanaut/Astronaut Carpenter wore that bracelet combo between 1967 and late 1969.
Moreover, I believe the little circular instrument was a Swiss-made AquaStar underwater thermometer in Fahrenheit and not a depth gauge as mentioned on RolexMagazine.
"The Deep Frontier: TV documentary can be seen below:
Philip continued "I have volunteered many times to give detailed talks about the US Navy & NASA career of Scott Carpenter, focusing on the 10 watches in his life".
