Rolex of the Day: Yachtmaster Lume Shots

No doubt the Stainless and Platinum Rolex Yachtmaster is a stunningly beautiful watch.  These shots show off how beautiful the Lume is.  Lume refers to how bright the 5 minute marker indices and minute and hour arms illuminate in the dark.

Lume is really an abbreviation for Luminescence.

Rolex of the Day: The Classic Rolex Submariner.

This first photo is a picture of an early 1970s Stainless Steel Submariner with a beautiful domed crystal.

This next image is of a current LV 50th Anniversary Rolex Submariner, with the green dial next to a vintage 1970s–Roger Moore as Bond–Submariner.  It is uncanny how similar the indices look on both watches.  This is of significance because on the models in between Rolex these two, Rolex went to smaller indices (indices are also known as 5 Minute Markers.)  The Significance of larger indices is that the larger they are the easier they are to read.

Emerson once wrote, "We must not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive at the place where we began, and recognize if for the first time." Talk about Timeless Design!!!  I hope you are enjoying my Rolex Blog.

I Had The Time of my Life: The Patrick Swayze Rolex Collection.

Patrick Swayze is pictured below with his lovely wife.

Patrick is wearing a Yellow Gold Daytona and his wife is wearing a ladies Yellow Gold Datejust.

I realize that Patrick has not been feeling that well lately.

Let's all hope for his speedy recovery.

Gary Jobson Classic Two-Tone Rolex Submariner...

This Rolex Advertisement is for the classic Two-Tone Rolex Submariner with the Blue dial and Bezel.

The copy reads: World Renowned Sailor Gary Jobson Puts His Trust In Classics.

Having completed successfully in a variety of boats, Gary Jobson's choice for himself is a classic Herreshoff 28-footer whose graceful design will never go out of style. The same aesthetic is reflected in his timepiece.

Rolex of the Day: GMTII-C Stainless Steel

What a Beauty!!!  This is the currently available Rolex GMT Master II with a Black Ceramic Bezel and Maxi Markers with fat hands.

Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kindom star Jim Fowler wearing his Trademark Rolex GMT Master...

This is an extremely heart-warming post for me because I have such fond memories of watching the original Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom Sunday Nights starring the wonderful gentle man, Marlin Perkins.

I remember being at my grandparents with the family on Sunday evenings and we would all watch Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, 60 Minutes and The Lawrence Welk Show.  Wunnerful, Wunnerful!  That was a Bobby and a Suzy, doing the polka-dot-polka!

The recent photo below is of one of the world's best known Naturalists, Jim Fowler who was Marlin Perkins co-host and later became the host of Emmy Award Winning, Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom.  Jim is wearing his trademark Rolex GMT Master.

Pictured above holding a baby Black Bear.

Pictured above is Peter Gros on the far left and Jim Fowler on the far right.  Both were stars on the Original Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom with their host, Marlin Perkins.  In the photo above they are shooting on the very popular new Mutual of Omahas Wild Kingdom which airs on Sunday nights at 7pm.

Memories are made of this.  Marlin Perkins was so cool!!!

Actor Brian Kelly from the 1960s Family TV Show Flipper wearing his Trademark Stainless Rolex Submariner

Porter Ricks from Flipper

Actor Brian Kelly played the father Porter Ricks and Chief Warden at Coral Key Park and Marine Preserve in the family oriented action-adventure television program Flipper.

You can see him sporting his Stainless Steel Rolex Submariner in the first three shots.  Brian Kelly was the son of former Governor of Michigan, Harry Kelly.  Brian was definitely a stud as you can see.

When I was a kid I loved this Show!!!  Now that I think about it the first time I ever saw a Stainless Steel Rolex Submariner was probably on this show.

After Brian Kelly retired from acting he went on to become a movie producer and was an executive producer of Blade Runner in 1982.

Rolex of the Day: Stainless and Platinum Yachtmaster

The glorious Stainless and Platinum Rolex Yachtmaster with the etched Platinum Bezel and matching Platinum dial.  In my opinion the Rolex Yachtmaster has the best lines of any Rolex. Essentially the Yachtmaster is a curvy streamlined Submariner.

Peter Sellers Rolex GMT Master from Casino Royal

In the James Bond epic surrealistic satire from 1967, Peter Sellers comedian wears a stainless steel Rolex GMT Master.

Of course you have to wonder if Rolex go the idea for the graphics on the Jaws advertisement below from this image where Peter Sellers is viewing the stunningly gorgeous Ursula Andres on his stainless GMT Master. Of course Ursula Andres starred in the Original James Bond Move staring Sean Connery as bond in 1962.
