Jeff Bridges Rolex Submariner

...Rolex Super Coolness...

Jeff Bridges

Rolex Submariner Keeping The Time Of His Life

Academy Award Winning Best Actor

Jeff Bridges is one of the most accomplished actors in history. He grew up in Hollywood with his famous actor father, Lloyd Bridges. Lloyd Bridges starred in groundbreaking TV series named SEA-HUNT, where he played action adventure scuba diver, Mike Nelson, and from that point forward he wore Rolex Submariner models, as does his son Jeff Bridges to this day. We see this in the recent photo below of Jeff Bridges.

Jeff Bridges has acted in so many famous roles in his lifelong acting career, and in this article we will take a look at some of them, and most  importantly we will explore how through his career he has worn Rolex Submariner models only. It is a fact that Jeff Bridges has been wearing Rolex Submariner models for at least forty years!!!!

1976

Jeff Bridges is pictured below wearing his stainless steel Rolex Submariner with his beautiful costar, Jessica Lange in the 1976 version of King Kong.

The original King Kong from 1933 is one of my favorite movies of all time and I only saw the 1976 version once, in 1976. I am excited to watch it again and if I can get any more screen captures, I will add them to this story. Thanks Peter!!!!

It's cool how Jeff Bridges Submariner matches his Nikon camera. Jeff Bridges is wearing a Rolex Submariner Reference 5512.

It is also funny that the only thing I remember from this movie which I saw when I was a kid, is how pretty Jessica Lange was!?! ;-)

Speaking of Jeff Bridges wearing his Rolex Submariner in a 1976 movie...Day before yesterday, I ran a story on Arnold Schwarzenegger wearing his yellow gold Rolex GMT-Master, and in the photo below we seem both Jeff and Arnold together, back in the day...staring together in the 1976 movie titled, "Stay Hungry." Talk about two super-iconic Hollywood actors...

Against All Odds Submariner from 1984

Against All Odds is really the quintessential 1980s movie; Jeff Bridges, Red Porsche 911 Cabriolet, and a Stainless Steel Submariner...Dude, you're into it!!!

The care race scene in Against All Odds is one of the most epic of all time, but I would not recommend trying this at home. Turn the volume way up!!!!!

We heard Phil Collins sing this beautiful song a few days ago that was the title song from the soundtrack. This time without the mullet. I Want My MTV!!!

The Dude Abides

The Big Lebowski

It's hard to believe it has been 22 years since the Coen Brothers cult classic movie, The Big Lebowski debuted with Jeff Bridges playing The Dude.

Speaking of iconic, in the photo below we see Jeff Bridges playing "The Dude" in The Big Lebowski...

Jeff Bridges, John Goodman & Steve Buscemi

Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, and Steve Buscemi recently got together with the Today show to discuss the impact that The Big Lebowski had on the world. For many people, Jeff Bridges will always be The Dude!

TRON

LEGACY

A few years ago we took a look Jeff Bridges at Jeff Bridges starring in the TRON sequel which was pretty, pretty good!!!

A few years ago Jeff Bridges won the Academy Award for Best Actor, and he is just as timeless as the Rolex Submariner watches he and his father Lloyd Bridges have worn their entire careers!!! TRON Legacy was extremely innovative as it was perhaps the first movie that used technology to make an actor look much younger, in a realistic way, without using AI, which didn't exist at the time.

And The Winner Is....

Rolex Coolness: Jeff Bridges
Wins 2010 Academy Award Oscar For Best Actor
[Generations Wearing Rolex Submariner Models]

Jeff Bridges won the Academy Award Oscar in 2010 for playing the leading role in the movie Crazy Heart!!! After an amazing career, at age 60, this was Jeff Bridges very first Oscar he won. In his acceptance speech he praised his parents by saying:

"Thank you Mom and Dad, for turning me on to such a groovy profession. Oh, my dad and my mom, they loved showbiz so much...I feel an extension of them. You know, this...is honoring them as much as it is me."

Just before the Academy Awards began, Jeff Bridges was asked if he had a good luck charm with him, and he responded that he was wearing his father's gold Rolex!!!! There is a photo of his father, Lloyd Bridges wearing his yellow gold Submariner that Jeff is referring to, later in this story.

In real life, Jeff Bridges is an accomplished guitarist and singer. In the photo below we see Jeff Bridges during filming of Crazy Heart and he is sporting his trademark two-tone Rolex Submariner.

Official Trailer For Crazy Heart

Below is live footage of Jeff Bridges performing on stage with Colin Farrell as they sing at a Toby Keith concert in Albuquerque, New Mexico during filming of Crazy Heart:

Pictured below is the movie poster for Crazy Heart, starring Jeff Bridges and Maggie Gyllenhaal:

In these next three photos, we see Jeff Bridges accepting his Oscar Academy Award for Best Actor in Crazy Heart.

Although this was Jeff Bridges' first Academy Award, we was nominated in the past for his performance in four movies which include: The Contender, Starman, Thunderbold & Lightfoot, and in The Last Picture Show.

The Dude Abides

Jeff Bridges career has spanned many other amazing films and one of his most famous movies, is of course, The Big Lebowski. where he played Jeffery "The Dude" Lebowski. He also starred in movies like, The Last American Hero, Tron, Tucker, The Fabulous Baker Boys, The Fisher King, Arlington Road, K-PAX, Seabiscuit, and most recently in Iron Man and The Men Who Stare At Goats.

Like Father Like Son

As I also mentioned, in Jeff Bridges acceptance speech, he praised his parents which comes as no surprise, since his father was a super-mega-star himself and Lloyd Bridges starred in the pioneering TV show named Sea-Hunt. In the photo below we see a young Jeff Bridges SCUBA Diving with his father Lloyd Bridges.

In the photo below see Jeff Bridges father, Lloyd Bridges starring on the TV show named SEA-HUNT as Mike Nelson, which ran from 1958 to 1961. Notice Lloyd Bridges Rolex Oyster bracelet which is attached to his Rolex Submariner.

Jeff Bridges parents he thanked in his speech when he accepted his Academy Award for Best Actor are pictured below. Lloyd Bridges, like his son Jeff Bridges was a life-long Rolex Submariner wearer as we see in the next three images!!!

Jeff Bridges is pictured below with his father Lloyd Bridges and his brother Beau Bridges years ago at the Academy Awards, standing in front of an Oscar statue.

Here is a more recent photo of Jeff Bridges wearing his two-tone Rolex Submariner with a black dial and matching black bezel.

In this next shot we get a pretty clear shot of Jeff Bridges two-tone Rolex Submariner with the black bezel and matching black dial.

In this next photo we see Jeff Bridges arriving at the Oscars earlier this evening with his wife Susan Geston-Bridges. What an amazing career!!! Congratulations Jeff!!!!!

Rolex Marketing Insight Letters to the Director of Rolex

...Inside Rolex...

Rolex Marketing Insight

Letters to the Director of Rolex

Christmas 1968

Rolex is a company that many, many marketing companies are in awe of since Rolex is the number one top rated company in the world when it comes to their reputation. Many companies inside and outside the horological world have attempted to study Rolex's Playbook, but the challenge is Rolex has not left many clues behind, as they are extremely discreet. That is why this correspondence between marketing guru, Mark McCormack and then Rolex Director, Rene-Paul Jeanneret is so insightful and interesting.

The gist of Mark McCormack's letter seen above to Rolex Marketing Director, Rene-Paul Jenneret is that he believes Rolex should license its name to other manufacturers to make non-watch products. Mark McCormack uses Dior as a specific example, which went crazy licensing its own name in the later 1960s and 70s to make all kinds of things like alarm clocks. It appears Rene-Paul Jeanneret refuses the idea, which in retrospect, was likely a good idea.

Mark McCormack was an American marketing tycoon, who among other things was responsible for representing Arnold Palmer's ambassadorship with Rolex.

Mark McCormack was largely responsible for coining the term, "The Rolex President", and it is fascinating to consider that Lyndon Johnson was the President of The United States when this letter was written.

The Rolex President ad pictured below was published in 1966, and I believe, from all my research, that Mark McCormack was the marketing genius who coined the term, "The Rolex President", as a nickname for The Rolex Day-Date.
